<?xml version='1.0' encoding='UTF-8'?><?xml-stylesheet href="http://www.blogger.com/styles/atom.css" type="text/css"?><feed xmlns='http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom' xmlns:openSearch='http://a9.com/-/spec/opensearchrss/1.0/' xmlns:georss='http://www.georss.org/georss' xmlns:gd='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005' xmlns:thr='http://purl.org/syndication/thread/1.0'><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2744098386757819881</id><updated>2012-02-16T01:13:50.405-08:00</updated><title type='text'>amypassey</title><subtitle type='html'></subtitle><link rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#feed' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://amypassey.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default'/><link rel='self' type='application/atom+xml' href='http://www.blogger.com/feeds/2744098386757819881/posts/default?max-results=100'/><link rel='alternate' type='text/html' href='http://amypassey.blogspot.com/'/><link rel='hub' href='http://pubsubhubbub.appspot.com/'/><author><name>Amy</name><uri>http://www.blogger.com/profile/00027193207287251990</uri><email>noreply@blogger.com</email><gd:image rel='http://schemas.google.com/g/2005#thumbnail' width='16' height='16' src='http://img2.blogblog.com/img/b16-rounded.gif'/></author><generator version='7.00' uri='http://www.blogger.com'>Blogger</generator><openSearch:totalResults>1</openSearch:totalResults><openSearch:startIndex>1</openSearch:startIndex><openSearch:itemsPerPage>100</openSearch:itemsPerPage><entry><id>tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2744098386757819881.post-1213191409221785422</id><published>2011-05-17T13:25:00.000-07:00</published><updated>2011-05-17T13:25:05.592-07:00</updated><title type='text'>Living below the line!</title><content type='html'>So last week I spent 5 days living on £1 a day for food and drink with my sister Sophy. &lt;br /&gt;To be honest, when I signed up to do it, i thought it would be fairly easy! &amp;nbsp;Once we got to the supermarket and started looking at prices, I started to feel nervous!&lt;br /&gt;&lt;br /&gt;The main items in my basket were porridge, UHT milk, potatoes, kidney beans, pasta, tuna, chopped tomatoes, rice, basic tea bags, apple juice &amp;amp; basic chocolate digestives! &lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;"&gt;By day 2 I decided to swap out the apple juice (and later a tin of tuna too) in exchange for nice (tea direct) tea bags and real milk! &amp;nbsp;&lt;/span&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica; font-size: 12px;"&gt;A few thoughts on what I learnt:&lt;/span&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;span class="Apple-style-span" style="font-family: Helvetica;"&gt;&lt;div style="font: 12.0px Helvetica; margin: 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px 0.0px;"&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;ul&gt;&lt;li&gt;Porridge is the sensible breakfast choice, I should go for it more (even eating it cold, it serves it's purpose)&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;I really love a decent cup of tea&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Snacking is a hobby I didn't know I had&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Variety is a luxury&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Simplicity in meals is under-rated &amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Saying Grace before a meal took on a new dimension, I really was grateful for having something in my stomach.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;Wasting food is even more distressing than before &amp;nbsp;&lt;/li&gt;&lt;li&gt;I could only bring myself to eat 3 mini eggs on Saturday, more than that seemed excessive...&lt;/li&gt;&lt;/ul&gt;&lt;div&gt;A very thought provoking challenge which I will definitely do again, to stay grateful, and keep contributing to the global poverty conversation. &amp;nbsp;Thanks to all my sponsors, I wonder how many micro finance projects we will have started with the £375?
